Features

Prevents Leakage

The Bridestone panel type water tank uses exclusively designed convex panels for the base. The convex panel is so designed that any increase in water pressure as the volume of stored water increases is distributed to and is concentrated at the panel joints. The joints are sealed with a special rubber sealant - a material especially developed using Bridgestone's long experience and technology with rubber products. This material will maintain its soft and adhesive properties even at low temperatures. The combine flange thickness at the panel joints is more than sufficient to meet the stress imposed. This "Self-Sealing" features eliminates the possibility of separation and hence leakage of the tank.

water Pressure Closes Joints

Water Pressure Mechanism
The water pressure created by filling the tank seals the joints preventing leakage.

This Never Happens With Bridgestone

In other type tanks, water pressure can open the joints breaking the seal, and allowing the stored water to leak out.

Drains Completely

The combination of convex base panels with a concave drainage panel ensures complete and faster drainage. A uniquee feature of the Bridgestone GRP panel type water tank, the concave drain panel was especially designed to facilitate periodic tank cleaning and insepction.

Keeps Water Clean

It is possible to make the GRP panels in a variety of colours. In most cases, however, this type of tank is installed in the open, exposed to direct sunlight. If the GRP panels are translucent, the growth of algae and other micro-organisms would be accelerated. After extensive testing and research, Bridgestone has adopted panel to minimize this problem, completely opaque and does not permit the passage of any light through it.

Keeps Water Cold

Glass fiber reinforced plastic has a very low thermal conductivity. The acutal value is approximately 1/240th of the value for steel. A typical problem with steel tanks has always been the high thermal conductivity and expansion of coefficient of steel. These characteristics can cause loosening of the panel connecting bolts in areas of wide temperature change. GRP panels, however, are not affected to such a high degree. Thus, the water stored in GRP panel tanks will not reach the very high temperatures to which the outside of the tank is exposed in semi-tropical or tropical zones.

Bridgestone has successfully developed specially inslutated panels to meet the temperature extremes of tropical or artic regions and has conducted a wide range of tests at both the high and low temperature levels.

Structure of heart insulated panel

The Bridgestone insulated panel has specially developed low thermal conductive rigid polyurethane foam in between the GRP single panel and GRP cover as shown below. These panels are used for the side and bottom of the tanks. Since an air layer exists between the roof and the water level, which itself acts as a thermal insulation, single panels are used for the roof.
